About us

About the movement

100 Women Who Care Vancouver is a local chapter of a grassroots philanthropic movement that started with one meeting in Jackson, Michigan, in 2006. Karen Dunigan gathered a group of women who raised $12,800 in under an hour for a local family health charity, and the model hasn’t changed since.

Today, there are more than 650 active chapters around the world, spanning women’s groups, men’s groups, and all kinds of community gatherings. Typically, four times a year, members each donate $100 to a local charity.

Fast, collective, and powerful. No galas, no grants, no red tape. Just people showing up and making an impact together.

How we got started

On a weekend away with long-time friends, one friend mentioned the 100 WomenWhoCare in Port Alberni, and another piped in that her Mum is part of the North Shore chapter.

The concept captured two of the ladies and then inspired by thriving chapters in North Shore, Fraser Valley, Tri-Cities, Victoria and others, they arrived home buzzing and got straight to work building something special for their own community.

The Vancouver chapter of 100 Women Who Care was born from friendship, a love of community, and a whole lot of heart.
